Baby cousin

My cousin just had a baby girl. She is beautiful and her name is Lucy Jane. She has the brightest red hair and is just the cutest thing. She is so tiny. She weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and was 21 in long. They live in Virginia so i havent been able to see her in person but i get pictures everyday of her. she is soo cute.

Christmas Party!

Last night my mom, sister, and I went to a Christmas Party. It was a Christmas Party for my mom's extended side of the family. We do it every year but normally it's in the middle of December but everyone is getting older and it's getting cold out and really dark early so we had to get it done asap.
The oldest there was 83 and she was actually looking better than normal then her great grand daughter who just turned 6 months old. She was so cute. She's just learning how to crawl and is doing so well at it.
We had a lot of fun last night and glad we went. My grandma was suppose to come over to our house and then we were all gonna go over to the party but just before we were suppose to leave my grandmother called and said she was sick and wasn't feeling well with the chills and flu-like symptoms. The doctor thinks its just a reaction to the
H1N1 shot. Shes feeling a little bit better but shes still not feeling herself. We are suppose to have Thanksgiving at her house on Thursday but if shes not feeling better then we will be having everyone over at our house to have Thanksgiving. Im hoping that shell feel better by then because normally on the day before my sister and i go over to my grandmother's house and help her clean and cook.

School

Well I have been really busy with school. Im gonna be even more busy with school because my grades arent to hot. Im trying my hardest but its just not working. We just finished the second marking period. All the teachers said that the first marking period was gonna be easy because it was all gonna be review from the year before.
Since this is my first year in high school im not used to the pace. Well i did really well the first marking period and the second marking period seemed a lot harder and i just couldn't keep up. English was getting harder by the day and it seemed like the class was going by sooooo fast and i just couldnt keep up. Global went slow but too slow for me. I know when i say to slow youre probably thinking so im doing really good. HA! thats a joke. Im not doing well at all in there. I never seem to be able to do well in history. I dont like learning about history and i dont get why i need to learn about something in the past. I dont care. Global always brings my overall average down. Spanish i always do fine in and that brings my grade up quite a bit. I love learning spanish and i know that since i need to know spanish for the career I am interested in.
So to the grades. In the first marking period for English i had a 88 percent but now in marking period two i have a 75. Yes you sadly read that wrong. I know that the grade should go up in the third marking period because we are in the process of doing a research paper. We had to turn in 60 notecards (not all at the same time) and then the teacher would grade them and hand them back to us the next day. Well i have turned all the cards in that are needed and i have gotten 100's and 102's on them which should make my grade go up BUT i just got my one test back and didnt do so well with a 67. Im gonna start trying a heck of alot harder to get that grade especially up. In global i dont know what my recent grade is but it was a 79 or something like that. I dont think that one went down too much if it went down at all. Spanish i have a 98 which went up 2 points so im happy about that one.
Im now all done with volleyball and had my banquet on Saturday and i did get an award. My coach makes things up for the catergories of the awards and nicknames for each player. My nickname was "the noodle" because whenever i jump up and hit the ball my wrist doesnt stay stiff and i injured my wrist when the season was almost over so thats almost the only thing i hear about now. lol :) I was awarded screecher because supposedly whenever im running for the ball and cant get to it in time i screech (i dont think i do but whatever).
So i have been very busy with volleyball and trying to keep up with the school work. Also i got another boyfriend and i just cant seem to focus on the work. of course he is in all of my classes so i cant focus in any of them. O well ill just have to work as hard as i can. Off to do my homework.

HALLOWEEN!!

Well im staying in tonight becuz i think im too old to go out trick or treating. Ill let the smaller ones take more candy. So im staying in and handing out candy to all the other kids.
My sister went out to a friends house and they are gonna go all around town trick or treating. A bunch of kids spent the night and they are spending the night again tonight!no sister for the couple of nights is WONDERFUL!

Job Shadowing Part 2

Now that im finally able to get back on Ill talk more about the job shadowing project. I mentioned that i wanted to be a NICU nurse when i get older.
Well becuz of the swine flu thats going around NO ONE is allowed to be in the hospital. Last monday morning they made a law saying that no one under the age of 18 can be in the Pediatric, Maternal, or NICU area of the hospital. Well on thursday afternoon they set a law saying no one whats so ever can be in the hospital.
My friends cousin went to the hospital thursday morning because of seizures. They ended up kicking her parents and sister out of the hospital because they were enforcing that law. First of all she is only 12 or 13 and she is in a lot of pain and now she cant even see her parents. i dont think thats right. She ended up having 21 seizures in 1 day which is definitley not good.
Now i am looking for somewhere to shadow but everywhere i wanna shadow they are enforcing laws and im only 14 so they wont let me in. in the middle of january i have to turn in a long paper explaining what i shadow, y i shadowed that specific place and if i liked it or not. if i dont get that turned in then i get a 0 on it, which counts 4 times, and then ill probably fail english which is what that grade goes into.

Job Shadowing

In ninth grade we get assigned something. We have to shadow someone in the career that we would like to study through out college. Well I wanna be a NICU nurse. With the swine flu out there they wont allow me to go into there becuz im not 18 or older. I will update more on this tomorrow but I just need to find someone to shadow so that i dont get a zero on this becuz it counts five times and that will make me failing no matter what i do and i dont want that.

Halloween!

On Saturday its Halloween! Im not going out trick or treating cuz i think im too old for it. Ill let the smaller kids get the candy. My sister is going with a bunch of her friends. Im going to a friends house with a bunch of friends and well hand out candy and party while her parents are out with her siblings.
On Saturday we have a Halloween party to go to at my boyfriends house and were gonna have a ton of fun. I love going to parties near Halloween. My boyfriend and i went to a new Haunted House and let me tell you its the best haunted house ive ever been too. Its right near my house and it is part of a mansion and corn fields that surround it. It has disney producers in it. The night that my boyfriend and i went there were a lot of people there and we had to wait almost 30 minutes just to pay. The cost is a little expensive but it is soooo totally worth it.
On Sunday im going shopping with some of my friends for a winter formal dress. On December 19th (more than likley) my grade will be having a winter formal somewhere nice in town. I live in a small town so there arent very many places to choose from. In June we had a semi formal at a dedicated fire hall and it was a lot of fun but it was really small for all the kids in my grade. In June it was just people in our school, Class of 2013 that could go. From here on out, if u have a bf/gf or friends from another school they are allowed to come. I love dances and i think they are alot of fun.
Well im off to bed so that i could get up early tomorrow morning. Thank God its Friday! Whenever im sick its always becuz im so tired and i can tell im tired. I got home from school today and just wanted to sleep but i couldnt becuz i have an 11 year old sister that acts like shes 2.

Football

Normally I watch football with my dad. Well he's not here today because he has to work. Normally he turns it on and I watch it with him. Well I never know what channel they are on. So right now I'm watching 2 games on TV and my favorite team on my laptop because I can't find them on TV.
My favorite team is the New York Jets! As of right now they are winning 14-0. I will be back on here once their game is over with. It's very nervewrecking and they better win after a 2 game losing spree.

Sick Days

I am in 9th grade and I've only missed 1 day of school. I missed that day of school in 7th grade on St. Patrick's Day! I was so mad at myself for being sick and not being able to go to school. I probably could have gone to school but I was too achy and I was really dizzy.
Well my sister just missed her first day of school last week and was not too happy but she ended up having pink eye and it was bad. It was on a Thursday when she left school early and went to the doctor's to find out she had pink eye and then on Friday she couldn't go to school because she had to be on meds. for at leaast 24 hours to not be contagious.
Yesterday she started complaining her throat hurt so now she probably won't be going to school tomorrow for the second time in one month. She is acting fine but is complaining her throat, stomach, and her head are bothering her.
I hate when someone in my house is sick because I normally catch sicknesses very easily and I can't afford to be sick. With this being my first year of highschool I'm really struggling with keeping up with everything and if I miss one day of school it's going to bed very hard to catch up and then I'll be really mad. I'm trying my hardest already and I'm not doing so good.

Benefit Game

Well I just got home from the benefit game for my cousin and they made a lot of money. It was a volleyball game for the alumni. They had 15 girls and 11 guys. 14 of the girls played the first 2 games and they did raffles in between. Before the guys and the other girl started playing they said how much they had raised so far not counting concessions. IT WAS OVER 3,000 DOLLARS!!!!
We ended up leaving after the guys played a game and then finished off the raffles because my mom wanted to get home before the storm hit. So I dont know what they made total but 3,000 dollars is wonderful. My aunt said that Amanda sees 3 different doctors a day and it's 20 dollars a doctor. She has to pay 60 dollars a day for 6 weeks just for all the radiation so this amount of money was wonderful.
My aunt and uncle also have 2 more kids. Their other daughter is an army nurse and is stationed in Texas. She just got married to another army doctor in July. Their son got married 2 Augusts ago and live pretty close to home.
This game was a wonderful way to raise money for my family and we really do appriciate everything that has helped. She is doing great and is starting to get back to her normal self. I love you very much Amanda and you know that I am always gonna be here for you. Love you

Benefit Game

Today we are going to my cousins benefit game. In the beginning of September my 21 year old cousin got diagnosed with tongue cancer. She had surgrey to remove the cancer and the doctors did get it all out. She is now cancer free but still has to do radiation for 6 more weeks just to be sure.
Today they are having a benefit volleyball game at her old school. She did play volleyball all through her highschool years. She also played softball and ended up playing 3 years of softball and 1 year of volleyball in college. She just finished college and was going to start living a full life when she found out she had cancer.
This type of cancer is normally found in people that are 60 years or older and that have smaoked all their life. Well she is only 21 and has never smoked.
When she had surgrey the doctor broke her jaw and cut a portion of her tongue out and took some skin from her leg for her tongue.
She is a gorgeous young lady and is going to start living her life now. They are raising money for her and we wish the luck for her. WE ALL LOVE YOU AMANDA!!!!!
PS- I am named after her. We look a lot alike. At birth I was born on the same day as her and looked just like her when she was born.

School

So far school is going well. Im going to start updating more often now that volleyball is pretty much over. I have my last game tomorrow and wont be getting home until almost 9 at night.
I only have little time to blog because I have to get into bed. I have not been able to catch up on my sleep in forever. I am so tired and can barely make it through the day.
Hopefully that will get better. But instead of coming home and going to bed on Friday nights after a volleyball game I go to the football game with my boyfriend and don't get home till almost 11 at night and then have to get up for volleyball tournaments at 6 in the morning. SO i guess it's mostly my fault.
Well im off to bed and ill post more tomorrow night if i get home in time to get on and post. It also depends on how much homework i have to get done. Almost Friday!!!

Homecoming!

On Friday it was homecoming at my school. All that week and some of the week before we worked on our classes homecoming float. the float would be in the parade which was suppose to be friday night but it got cancelled cause it was suppose to rain all night. well i had a volleyball game so luckily for me and the rest of the team. so during second block they came over the p.a. and said that we would do the parade during flex which was in not even 15 minutes. well all the sports had to find the rest of their team so we could all walk together. we thought we would be walking around the town like it was planned for the night. yea well we were out of luck and we walked around the circle in the middle school which took not even 10 minutes. so that was the shortest parade i've ever been in and ive been in alot.

friday night i had a game that was home. normally the jv plays first and then the varsity but according to the principal homecoming is more important to the seniors so they got to play first. by the time my game was over the homecoming football game was gonna start in about 5 minutes so i got dressed, ate and walked out back of the school to the football game. unfortanutley we lost but everyone still had fun. it was pouring rain so a lot of people had to go home and change before they went to the homecoming dance which started at 9.

so at about 845 i came home and changed and then my dad took me back down to school for the dance which was from 9-12. by the time i got home everyone was in bed so i got food and went to bed. i had a lot of fun at the dance but unfortanutly they arent doing anymore so there arent many other fun things going on at school.

also last week was spirit week and we had to wear certain things each day. monday we had to wear something with animal print on it which not a lot of people did because no one has anything with animal print on it. the people that did dress up had very pretty things on. (none of the guys dressed up-TYPICAL!) on tuesday it was theme day. for our floats we had a certain theme that each grade had to do and unfortunatly ours was the 50s. we had no idea what to do. only one person and of course it was a girl that dressed up that day and she only had a jacket on. wednesday it was hick day and a ton of people dressed up. in my town a lot of families have farms so people ride their tractors into school and put wagons on the back for other kids to ride in on. its pretty fun and this year there were 16 tractors that showed up which was quite a bit for a small town like ours. on thursday it was sleeveless shirt day. pretty much the guys did that one because on thursday the jv football players wear sleeveless shirts no matter what. but he principal said for that day he didnt want to see tube tops or spaghetti straps which is pointless for the girls. on friday was our school colors day and then at the end of the day we had a pep rally. so needless to say this week was very hectic.

im gonna start to update more often! but for now i have to go get my homework done for school tomorrow. im getting the flu shot tomorrow so wish me luck!

School

So in 10 days we start school again :(. my summer has been pretty boring but of course it was a lot better than school. the wheathermen are saying that its going to continue to be warm and hot all the way until October. well our school doesnt have air conditioning and it gets very hot with all of the lights and kids talking.
school starts at 7:45am and ends at 3:00pm. well after that long day at school i have volleyball from 3:00pm-5:30pm. im going to be very tired. of course after i get home from volleyball i have to take a shower and then eat dinner, do my homework and then its off to bed so that i can get back up again at 6:00am.
im going to be so tired. hopefully i wont get a ton of homework so that i can still have time to hangout with some of my friends. my boyfriend works after school and wont get home until 6:00pm so by the time i get home from practice and take a shower and eat dinner he should be home. then by the time we both get our homework down im hoping that we have at least an hour to spend together.
in school we dont have many classes together. we have gym and lunch and thats it so seeing him in school is gonna be about zilch. o well. as long as i get to see him once in awhile ill be fine.
well im off. on thursday i have my first volleyball game and also i go into school and put my stuff in my locker. i better start getting ready for volleyball practice so until next time!!

Volleyball

one of my favorite sports is volleyball. well this week and next week are tryouts because i have to play on JV this year since im in ninth grade.
there is a new girl that is going to be a freshman, so shell be in my grade, and she is huge. she looks like she is going to be a senior. shes mamath. when the coach said we have a new girl named Lizzie and shes gonna be a freshman everyones jaws dropped.
so we are praticing our blocking and all of a sudden Lizzie screeches and yells OW!. she was right in front of me so i quickly stopped and dropped to the ground to make sure she was ok and her leg was just dangling and she couldnt move it. it was nasty. she had dislocated her knee cap.
so one of the coaches called her mom to tell her to come get her and take her to emergency. by the time her mom got there we had got it back in place. she couldnt walk so one of the coaches carried her out to the car. lets just say EW!
lets just say that everyone was now scared to practice blocking again. i am very clumsy and always get hurt so i was very scared.
im having a good time and love volleyball so its fun. the only thing that i absolutley hate is the hot weather. the school doesnt have very good ac so its very hot. yet they still make us run around the school for 10 minutes everyday then do exercises and then play volleyball. i only do it because i know its gonna make me a better volleyball player and because i want to make the team.

Reese

Reese Catherine Rowe went to be with Jesus last night. She is free of tubes and can live her life and make many friends up there. Please keep The Rowe family in your prayers and that they will make it through this rough time. I can only image the greif that is going through that family. RIP Reese

Babysitting!

ok so as i said i was going to babysit today and of course i did. when we get in the car the baby starts crying so i got to clam her down. then we got home and she got upset and wanted a bottle so thats what i did. she was very good until the last 5 minutes she was very tired cause she missed her afternoon nap. she fell asleep on me 3 times but she only slept for at least 15 minutes each time. she was VERY tired. i started watching her at about 2 and got home at about 915 and i am very tired.
my sister has one of the most obnoxious kid over to spend the night and they r sleeping on the top bunk while im on the bottom. they r making so much noise and i dont think im ever gonna get to sleep.

Babysitting

Today me and my friend are going to her cousins house to babysit. her cousin is 9 months old. also her other cousins live across the street and they are 5 year old twins. they might come over to. that ought to be fun.
well my friend is coming over now to get me so thats all im going to say for now.

Shopping

Today i went shopping with my aunt debe, my cousin jasmine and my sister. we had sooo much fun! we went to Macys and my cousin got a lot of clothes for the upcoming school year. she is going to be in 7th grade along with my sister and ill be in 9th. so my cousin bought a lot of clothes at macys and then my aunt bought an outfit for jasmines brother austin who stayed home. austin is going into 3rd grade. after macys we went to hot topic for my sister and OMG! does that store freak me out. it freaked my cousin out too so we went across from hot topic to icing and looked around in there. after that we went to aeropostale and that is where i buy all my clothes. so we went in and i bought 4 shirts and 6 jeans. i would have bought more shirts but i have bought them all already most of them in many different colors so i didnt have anymore to buy.
when we were all done shopping which was at about 1 we went to the food court and had tom whals for lunch and it was VERY good. after we left the mall my aunt had a hair appointment so since my moms work is right next to the mall she dropped me and me only off at moms work. my sister went with them and is now spending the night at my aunts house.
finally get away from her and i am able to spend time with my friends without her being around to annoy me and my friends. when shes here and is following us around i cant say much of anything to my friends because she will go and tell the whole world.
i guess thats enough rambling on for tonight and i have to get to bed so that i am up in time to get to the house that i have to babysit at tomorrow.

Baby Reese

Katie and Jason Rowe were scheduled to deliver their baby girl Reese. When Katie was about 24 weeks pregnant she was in terrible pain and was in the hospital with some brain issues and she ended up recovering. She is now 37 weeks and delivered the baby. Reese was born not breathing. When Katie went into labor and was at the hospital the doctors thought maybe Reese was brain dead. Now they are saying she is in a coma and may be brain dead. The doctors are now saying there is hope.
Katie and her family are really big beleivers in God and when she was sick they prayed and she recovered. Now they are having faith that their baby girl will recover and be able to live her life to the fullest. Please pray for baby Reese and Katie and Jason along with their family.
Katie and Jason also have a little boy so please pray for the family that their son and daughter make it through all this ok.

**UPDATE** baby Reese is doing alittle better. her family has posted pictures on their blog for everyone to see. she is beautiful and her parents and family need everyones prayers. please pray that she gets better. this family deserves more than what God is giving them.

New blog

Last night i got on and blogger had erased all of the blogs i followed. Luckily i had them all in my favorites so i just went to every page and hit follow. well after i did all of those blogs and got back on blogger had erased them again. so i got on this morning to see if blogger had put them back on cause maybe they were having diffuculties last night and no such luck. so i made a new blog and went to all the other blogs that i like to follow and hit follow and so far they have stayed but lets hope that doesnt happen again because that takes a lot of time to go to every blog that i like and hitting follow.
